Hi,
I installed Postie (the most recent one) & Wordpress 2.0.4, & I keep getting the message below when I use the Postie Configuration. I tried tweaking the postie-functions.php file by adding a few $ in the lines mentioned, or deleting some of the lines, & the below reduces to only about 2-3 lines which are either “Warnings” or “Fatal errors.” But I’ve reverted everything back to the original because I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
It looks like it’s not able to access the pictures correctly. Is it supposed to make the Thumb pictures by itself, or do we download that somewhere?
Also, I’m not sure where to place the /wp-filez/ & /wp-photos/ folders. Do we place that in the top root (for my case, http://viv-arts.com/wp-filez) or under the “blog” folder (eg. http://viv-arts.com/blog/wp-filez), or under the “postie” folder (http://viv-arts.com/blog/…postie/wp-filez). I tried placing it in the different places, the but the message below is still there.
Any help would really be appreciated. I’ve been working on this for way tooooooooo loooooonnnnnnngggg!!

oh by the way, when I do the “Run Postie” from Postie Configure > Run Postie, I keep getting this message:
“The web server cannot write to / please correct the permissions”
But I know those 2 folder (wp-filez & wp-photos) are both set to 777, & I’ve tried placing those folders in different places, & I’ve also tried setting other folders to 777, & they all end up displaying this message also.
I don’t what to do. P.S. I just downloaded these yesterday (10/27/06), so I’m probably using the latest non-beta versions. Thank you for the help, anyone!!!

I’m having the exact same problems, both in fact, the image not working then it says it is unwritable when the permissions are ok …
“Need postie”, have you figured it out yet, or has anyone else figured it out?
ESG what do you think?
