Is Jay-Z signaling a recession?

But it wasn’t sex, drugs, violence or explicit language that shocked my conscience.

It was the Euros.

The Jay-Z video flashed large stacks of €500 Euros.

When I start seeing rap stars flashing euros instead of U.S. dollars, I know our economy is in trouble.

I heard about this on NPR. Scary when it happens within the country. In Cuba and many other countries, this has already happened. Pre circa 2000, THE international currency was the dollar.

I’m not sure if this is a bad thing though. A weaker dollar means its easier to sell stuff to other countries, which could maybe equalize our trade deficit. Additionally, maybe this could cut down on the amount of counterfeiting.

I’ve also heard its bad for a currency to have too much circulation outside of the parent country. I don’t remember why.
