Brian Dettmer: Book Autopsies

This guy cuts up books (which makes me sad) to expose their visual complexity (which makes me happy). I’m probably drawn to this because I am a bibliophile, but also because it resonates so strongly with one of my favorite art pieces in the world The Mural that stands at the center of the Coates Library at Trinity University in San Antonio.

More of Brian’s work can be viewed at The Packer Gallery

Does thing mean I have a Rock Band Problem?

I’ve had to make some adjustments to the Rock Band drum kit to accommodate my legs and feet (since I’m apparently larger than the target audience)
I also found the drum sticks light and uncomfortable. Someone recommended I look at getting bigger sticks – so now I have a collection.
Can I just say it was a weird feeling shopping for drum sticks in an actual music store and seriously hoping no one asked me any questions about my kit!
